Maps of the Interior
by Margot Sullivan
My first novel. A woman in her early thirties inherits her grandmother's house in rural New Hampshire and moves in thinking she'll fix it up and sell it. She stays. The house has problems — a crumbling foundation, a well that keeps running dry — and so does she. I wrote most of this on my lunch breaks during my last year at the publishing house. You can probably feel the urgency in it.
