Built for authors, not everyone

Everything readers look for on an author’s site, and nothing taken from your sales.

Sell direct. Keep it all.

Sell ebooks, audiobooks and signed print copies from your own site. Readers pay with Stripe, and downloads arrive by email right away. Stripe takes its standard fee. We take nothing.

Own your readers

Collect emails with a free gift, like a first chapter. Keep your list in Zenpage, or send it straight to Mailchimp, Kit, Beehiiv, Substack, Brevo or MailerLite.

Your whole shelf, in seconds

Paste one Amazon link or ISBN. We find the rest of your books, with their covers and buy links, so you don’t type them in one by one.

Also included

  • Book pages with buy links
  • Book series
  • Blog
  • Events calendar
  • Custom domain, free SSL
  • Visitor stats, no cookies
  • Contact page

Support from the person who built it

Zenpage is a one-person project, and I run it alongside a full-time job. Support messages come straight to me. A reply can take a day or two, but I read every message and I answer every one.

Colophon

For readers who check the fine print.

Speed. Pages are cached and served through Cloudflare, so they load fast. Covers and photos are resized, compressed and converted to WebP when you upload them.

Security. HTTPS on every site, custom domains included, with DDoS protection from Cloudflare. Newsletter keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and every form is rate limited.

Payments. Stripe Connect, so money goes to your own Stripe account, never through ours. Buyers get a private download link by email, and can ask for a new one any time.

Search. Sitemap, clean URLs, and book details in the format search engines read. Set up on publish, nothing to configure.

Privacy. Visitor stats without cookies, so your readers never see a cookie banner.

Sharing. Links shared on X, Facebook, WhatsApp or iMessage show a proper preview card with your cover. Your blog has an RSS feed.

Questions you probably have

Still unsure about something? Write to me. It comes straight to me.

Your website is free, and it stays free. When you sell, Stripe charges its standard processing fee (about 2.9% + 30¢ in the US) and Zenpage takes nothing. Hosting a site costs very little, which is how this works. One day there may be optional paid extras, but nothing that is free today will move behind a paywall.

No. Each template was designed after studying professional author websites, and there are no ads or banners on your pages. There is a small “Powered by Zenpage” link in the footer, and you can turn it off in your settings. The templates section above shows real, working sites, so you can judge for yourself.

Amazon is where readers buy, not where they get to know you. Your Amazon page is laid out by Amazon, sits next to other authors’ books, and never gives you a reader’s email. Your own site shows all your books your way, can sell to readers directly, and builds a list that belongs to you. Keep selling on Amazon too: your book pages link to every store.

Yes. Your site works right away at yourname.zenpage.io, and you can connect a domain whenever you like. If you don’t own one yet, they cost about $10 to $15 a year. The setup runs through your own free Cloudflare account, so the domain stays in your name. SSL is free either way.

Ebooks (EPUB or PDF), audiobooks, and print copies you ship yourself, like signed paperbacks. Readers pay through Stripe, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Downloads arrive by email right away, as a secure link that works for 72 hours and up to 5 downloads. For print orders, you get the order with the shipping address and send the book.

Yes, that is who it is built for. You type your book’s title, ISBN or Amazon link, and Zenpage builds your site from it: your books, covers, buy links and a template that fits your genre. Then you add a photo and a few lines about yourself, and publish. There is no code and no page builder to learn.

Yes. You can download all your content at any time as one file: profile, books, series, events, blog posts, sales and settings. Your reader list downloads as a CSV, and your domain stays in your name. We would rather you leave happy than stay stuck.

Built by a reader, not a startup

I’m not an author. I love reading, and I kept seeing authors pay too much for their websites, or lose part of every sale to middlemen just to sell their own work.

Hosting a site costs me very little, so Zenpage is free and takes no commission. One day I may add optional paid extras, but anything that is free today stays free.

It’s just me, working on this next to a full-time job. Every message reaches me, and I answer every one.

Julien
