BookBub gives you a free site. Zenpage gives you one that sells.

What BookBub costs once you need Pro
The free plan is real. Reader gifts, series pages, events and analytics are on Pro. Change the underlined words to match your plan and watch it add up.
On BookBub Pro, paid yearly, for 3 years, with my own .com.
- Pro adds reader gifts, series pages, events and analytics. It still can’t sell books.
- Yearly plans renew on their own at the current price, and BookBub doesn’t refund a partly used year.
- Your .com is counted on both sides, so the totals stay fair.
BookBub Pro
billed yearly, 3 years
- Year 1$95.88
plan $95.88, domain free this year
- Year 2$110.88
plan $95.88, domain $15.00
- Year 3$110.88
plan $95.88, domain $15.00
Your .com still costs about $30 over 3 years at Cloudflare. That money goes to Cloudflare, not us.
Zenpage vs BookBub, honestly
BookBub Author Websites is the closest thing to Zenpage: built for authors, with a free plan. The differences are in what each one leaves out. Here is where each one comes out ahead.

Where BookBub is ahead
| Topic | BookBub | Zenpage |
|---|---|---|
| Sending newsletters | BookBubBuilt inWrite and send from the same dashboard: 1,000 emails a month free, 10,000 on Pro, for lists up to 10,000 readers. | ZenpageFrom your email providerZenpage collects readers and syncs them. You write and send in Mailchimp, Kit or similar. |
| Templates | BookBubDozens on ProThree on the free plan, and many more on Pro. | ZenpageEight, all freeEach one is designed for books, and every author gets all eight. |
| Buying a domain | BookBubIn the dashboardBuy a .com for $15 a year, free the first year on yearly Pro, without a second account. | ZenpageThrough CloudflareYour domain sits in a free Cloudflare account in your name. It is one more account, and a .com costs about $10 a year there. |
| Landing pages | BookBubOn ProStandalone pages for a launch or a reader gift, even for authors whose site is somewhere else. | ZenpageOn your siteYour site has a subscribe page and a page for each book, but no standalone landing pages. |
If you want to write and send your newsletter from the same place as your website, BookBub is the simpler setup. If you want to sell books from your own site, or give readers a free book without paying for Pro, Zenpage does both for free.
How the move from BookBub works
About an hour of your time, plus a day or two while the domain switches. Your BookBub site stays live the whole time. No site yet? Steps 1 and 2 are all you need.
Start with step 1Paste one of your books
Zenpage does it, about a minute
Its Amazon link, ISBN or title. Zenpage finds the rest of your books from your Amazon author page, with covers, blurbs and buy links, and adds your bio and photo. You see the site before you sign up. Nothing changes on BookBub.
Sign up and keep it
Zenpage does it, a minute
Sign in with your email. Your site goes live at your-name.zenpage.io straight away. Pick one of the eight templates if you want a different look.
Bring your words over
You do it, about 20 minutes
BookBub has no export for pages or posts, so copy your blog posts and praise quotes across. The editor splits each quote from its source when you paste. Upload your reader gift and ebook files, then connect Stripe to sell.
Move your readers
You do it, about 15 minutes
Export your contacts from BookBub as a CSV. Import them into Mailchimp, Kit, MailerLite or another provider, then connect that provider in Zenpage. If you sent newsletters from BookBub, you send them from that provider from now on.
Move your domain
You, then a wait, 10 minutes of work, then a day or two
BookBub runs your domain’s nameservers. Add the domain to a free Cloudflare account and switch its nameservers to Cloudflare where you registered it. If you bought it through BookBub, transfer it to Cloudflare once it is 60 days old. Then add the two DNS records shown in your Zenpage settings.
Keep BookBub until this step is done
A domain bought through BookBub stops renewing when you cancel your plan. Transfer it first, then cancel.
Cancel BookBub Pro
You do it, 2 minutes
Do it once your domain shows your Zenpage site. BookBub doesn’t refund a partly used period, so time it before your renewal date. Keep your BookBub author profile: it is a separate product, and readers follow you there.

Cost
There is a free plan with three templates, a free author-pages.com address or your own domain, and up to 1,000 emails a month. Pro is $7.99 a month billed yearly ($95.88) or $9.99 month to month. It adds reader gifts, series pages, events, analytics and more templates. New accounts get a 14-day Pro trial. Prices checked on September 23, 2026.
Not from the site itself. There is no store or checkout on either plan, so you add links to retailers or to a shop hosted somewhere else. Zenpage sells ebooks, audiobooks, paperbacks and signed copies from your own site, on every site, with no commission.
Yes, it is free, with no paid plan and no card. An author site is mostly text and images, so hosting one costs pennies a month. Zenpage takes no cut of your book sales: Stripe charges its usual fee and the rest lands in your Stripe account. It is a small independent project. There is an optional tip jar in the dashboard, and paid add-ons may come later, but the website and book sales stay free.
No. Your BookBub author profile is where readers follow you for new-release alerts, and you should keep it. Author Websites is a separate BookBub product with its own login. Zenpage replaces the website, not the profile, and your Zenpage site can link to your BookBub profile.
Switching from BookBub
Your subscriber list, yes, as a CSV. Pages and blog posts, no: BookBub doesn’t offer an export for them. Zenpage builds your site from your books instead, and you copy blog posts across.
Yes. BookBub connects domains by running their nameservers. Add your domain to a free Cloudflare account and switch the nameservers to Cloudflare where you registered it. If you bought it through BookBub, transfer it to Cloudflare once it is 60 days old. Then connect it to Zenpage with two DNS records.
Yes, through an email provider. Export your contacts from BookBub as a CSV, import them into Mailchimp, Kit, MailerLite, Beehiiv or Brevo, and connect that provider in Zenpage. Zenpage can’t send campaigns itself, so if you wrote newsletters in BookBub, you write them in your provider from now on. Most have a free tier.
Your domain and your name carry most of it, and both come with you. Your old BookBub page addresses won’t all match the new ones, so some old links to inner pages break until Google picks up the new sitemap. Most readers find an author by name, which lands on the home page. Zenpage sites have a sitemap, meta tags and structured data from day one.
Yes. The preview changes nothing on BookBub. Build your Zenpage site on its free zenpage.io address, check it, and move the domain only when you are happy with it.
See your books on Zenpage first
The preview is free and changes nothing on BookBub. Decide after you’ve seen it.
- See it before you sign up
